Well folks, a lot has been happening in my life and it’s going to take some time to get caught up with my blog but my latest idea came to me last night after listening to some Classic Rock songs on youtube. I’m going to put a band together to do some local gigs and I’m going to start advertising today. I will still perform as a solo act but will also be looking to book some shows for the band. So this is exciting for me.
This week I also paid for my Therapeutic Touch course that starts in March but I will begin practicing on willing victims as soon as I am able. I have wanted to be a healer for about 20 years and I’m finally able to follow another of my dreams.
A recent Runestone reading gives me the feeling that everything will work out in it’s own time and I pray to God that it does. I have faith and I know that this is the right direction for me.
There aren’t a lot of paying gigs in the Cowichan Valley but a local Music Store manager just gave me the right idea… to create my own gigs. So look out Cowichan Valley because if this band does get off the ground, it’s going to kick butt!!
Will be back to update you on my progress in the near future.
Nice to be blogging again.
Love and Light.
If you’ve just visited this blog for the first time I would like to welcome you and invite you to hear my music at reverbnation.com/sheilacarr
Enjoy reading… this goes back a long ways. Not updating so much these days but have written a lot in the past. Hope you’re having a great weekend. Love and Light.
Well I finally uploaded a couple of new songs to reverb nation and one of them is an oldie of mine that I never recorded before. One of them is a slow love song inspired by my new relationship with my sweetie and is about how I feel about him and me. I did run into an issue that shows up when I’m on my laptop but not when on better speakers. The song “For You” has a very quiet guitar sound to it and on some computers that might be an issue. I will work on replacing that track in the near future so it’s more audible.
Things are going good. I’ve been picking up a lot of shifts at my day job and I’m heading out to Duncan Music today to get that Yamaha apx500 guitar that I have been drooling about for the past few weeks. I’m so happy about that.
Also heading to the beach later today when my fav guy finished work.
All in all things are good. I am feeling blessed.
Have a great long weekend.
Love and LIght.
Well I figured out my audio problem. It wasn’t the speakers after all. So I am in my home studio at this moment in time recording some new material to be uploaded to reverb nation as soon as it’s finished. Happy Weekend Everyone! Love and Light
Well things are going really well for me. I am getting a lot of attention for my music and that makes me very happy. Although I ran into some other issues with my computer lately that is slowing me down. First my studio software was making invalid mp3 copies which would not upload to reverbnation, then my microphone gave me issues and now my speakers have given out!! Always something to slow me down! But that’s ok.
Thanks to the Cowichan Intercultural Society for supporting and promoting my songs and to my facebook friends and family who have been sharing my songs on facebook.
Life is good. You gotta love that.
Have a great day everyone! Love and Light.
Well my show was a success and I got some cool video clips to post on Facebook for my friends to see. Gotta love that! Lots of people showed up and it was a good venue for me. Just waiting to hear back from the promoter to book another upcoming show in June. Also awaiting word from a Producer who will be recording my songs in the near future when I go into the studio. Hopefully we’re getting together next week to talk business and when I’m done I will have a cd to promote of my original songs.
I’m happy with the way things are working out for me. If anyone had told me a few years ago that things would be so good I never would have believed them. I would have thought that they were just trying to make me feel better. Now that things are working out I’m very grateful. I have a lot to be thankful for.
I will investigate and see if my video files will work on this blog and if they do I will definitely be adding some in the near future. I will keep you posted as to what is happening with my music. Tonight I am going to work on recording another song and I pray that my software will pump out a valid mp3 copy and I’ll be able to post it on Reverb Nation. If you are new to this blog you can find my music at reverbnation.com/sheilacarr
Have a great weekend all. And I’ll catch up with you later.
I haven’t had the time to blog lately but I was just thinking that it would be a good thing to get into again. Life has been good to me and it would be a good thing for me to get back into writing again. I was just named “Volunteer of the Month” at The Cowichan Intercultural Society, a non-profit organization I have been working for since November of 2012. I love working there and it’s a pleasure to meet so many people of so many different ethnicities and backgrounds. It’s been a good six months and I have enjoyed it immensely. Nice to be appreciated.
I just got a job in a local retail outlet and went through a day of training yesterday. That went well. I am very blessed and the job came at a very good time as I had put out about twenty resumes in the past couple of weeks and after two in-person interviews I finally landed a job that I think I’m going to really enjoy.
My first show in ages is coming up on Friday, May 31st at the Library in Duncan. It’s been about twelve years since I have performed in front of an audience and I am really looking forward to doing this show. I have a lot of people interested in seeing me perform again and although I’ve hardly had any time to practice for it, I’m sure it’s going to be a good one-hour stint of both originals and cover tunes. Choosing the songs was pretty difficult as there are so many that I could perform but since the venue is only for one hour I had to choose carefully and I will do half originals and half covers and I’m planning to video tape some songs so I can post them on Facebook at a later date.
Speaking of date, I had my first anniversary last week and sometimes I’m still surprised that I finally found someone to share my life with. We were friends for three years before we started dating and we’re still getting to know each other. He’s a very special person in my life and he treats me like a princess and you have to love that.
I haven’t been going to the Cowichan Writer’s Group lately but that’s something that is on my mind as I really enjoyed going and I just have to make some time to go and get back into writing short stories. That’s something that I will do in June and I’m sure that will be a pleasant experience for me as I loved it when I was part of it before.
So things are good. And now I have to get ready to go to the Dentist. Working on saving a tooth that is giving me issues lately. Praying that that goes well. Planning to record soon as the issue with my studio has been resolved as far as I can tell at this moment in time. Lots of new songs to upload.
Enjoy your day and remember that sometimes things just work out even when you don’t expect them to. God has a way of making us happy even when we think that we’re not going to be happy ever again. I am. And I thank God for all my blessings because life is good.
See you soon!
